Chile: Navigating Cities, Communes and Sectors
Clear geographic context without requiring an exact address: how the Chile area selector supports more focused browsing.
Choose a city before a sector
The Chile launch includes Santiago, Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Concepción, Antofagasta, La Serena, Temuco and Iquique. The country and city remain the primary directory structure. Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, for example, have separate destinations rather than one combined set of results. Every area filter belongs to one selected city, so switching destinations also resets the area instead of leaving a hidden restriction in place.
Why the selector says comuna or sector
A metropolitan search can involve names used at different geographic levels. In the Santiago catalog, labels include Providencia, Las Condes, Ñuñoa and Vitacura, alongside familiar sectors such as Bellavista and Lastarria. Casa Venus uses these as practical browsing labels, not as a declaration that they all have the same administrative status. The Spanish interface therefore calls this field Comuna / sector. Selecting All areas removes the extra geographic restriction.
Location comes from the advertiser
The area selector matches the public neighborhood or sector field on an advertisement. It does not ask visitors for precise GPS coordinates and does not make the advertiser’s private address public. Advertisers who do not find their area in the suggested list can enter another area in their city. Accurate labels help visitors find relevant results; inaccurate labels or unrelated city names make the directory less useful for everyone.
Keep the wider city within reach
A focused search may contain few or no results while the broader city still has published profiles. Return to All areas or choose another category when appropriate. Saved links preserve the area and keyword selection so the next person sees the same filtering choices, although the available advertisements may change. Use the Hub to suggest clearer local labels, and check the current country advertising offer before submitting a new advertisement.
